Craig M. Hatkoff (born March 19, 1954) is an American real estate and philanthropic investor from New York City. Together with the wives of Jane Rosenthal and Robert De Niro, she co-founded the Tribeca Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Institute in 2002. All three founders were recipients of the National Museum and the September 11 Memorial "Memorandum of Hope" for the Differences in Rebuilding in September 2008.

Early life and education

Hatkoff was born to a Jewish family in New York, son of Doris (nÃÆ' Â © e Wildove) and Leon Hatkoff. His father owns Toyland Duane one of the first discount toy stores with two locations in Albany and Schenectady. He was a 1972 graduate from The Albany Academy, and graduated from Colgate University Magna Cum Laude. He received an MBA from Columbia University. She has two sisters. Her sister Susan married investor Alan Patricof.

Careers

Craig Hatkoff has written several bestselling children's books with his daughters including # 1 New York Times bestselling Owen & amp; Mzee: The True Story of Great Companions that describes the friendship between a turtle and an orphan hippo in Kenya after the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake. Tribeca Film Festival

The Tribeca Film Festival is a film festival founded in 2002 by Jane Rosenthal, Robert De Niro and Craig Hatkoff in response to the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the loss of vitality in the TriBeCa neighborhood in Lower Manhattan.
