This channel was originally launched as a Style Network (though on-air promotions typically call it "Style" only) on October 1, 1998, serving as a spin-off from E !. On January 18, 2017, it was announced that the network would end all pay-TV distributions in the summer of 2017 and convert them to an online-only model. International
Internationally, Style Network was launched in the Arab world in December 2007 at Showtime Arabia, in South and West Africa during returning in November 2007 at DStv, in the UK and Ireland on June 10, 2008, in Japan on the World on Demand and Australia on November 2009. The network is scheduled for launch in Poland and Romania.
Style Network continues to air on the international market, although the English/Irish version stops operating on December 9, 2013, while the African version stops operating on March 31, 2015. The brand license agreement with Hearst for Esquire Network is exclusive to the United States. , and NBCU and Hearst have never pursued an international version for Esquire Network.
In 2014, the Australian version of Style Network created its first local commission, Fashion Blogger , after its American counterpart rebranding.
