Valley Springs (formerly, Spring Valley and Spring Valley ) is the census-determined place (CDP) in Calaveras County, California, USA. The population is 3,553 at the 2010 census, up from 2,560 at the 2000 census. The city is located at the junction of State Route 12 and Route 26. The city is listed as California Historical Landmark # 251.

Histori
In 1885, San Joaquin and Sierra Nevada Railroad completed the narrow railroad tracks from Brack's Landing to Valley Springs. There is an old train station known as "Kokines Station". The line eventually belongs to South Pacific Railroad, and the standard gauge to Valley Springs is replaced.
The post office opened there in 1872, closed in 1879, and re-established in 1882.
