The study of real estate at the undergraduate level is generally contained as a Bachelor of Science degree in Real Estate or a Bachelor of Business Administration with concentrations in real estate. A small number of universities offer a complete "Bachelor of Science in Real Estate" and have a "Real Estate" department at each of the Universities within the University. With the maturity of the Master of Real Estate Development program, the university is now seeking and also offers a special undergraduate education in real estate.
Many programs are ranked by AS. News and Reports The World is a Bachelor of Business Administration or Bachelor of Science program although some, such as the University of Florida, Cornell University, and the University of Illinois, only offer minors in Real Estate or majors in Finance "with emphasis on Real Plantation". While business schools continue to attract real estate professionals of the future, many business education critics have many complaints. Some people say schools have become too scientific, too separate from real-world problems. Others say students are taught to come up with solutions in a hurry to complicate matters. Other groups argue that schools give students a limited and distorted view of their role - that they graduate with a focus on maximizing shareholder value and only a limited understanding of the ethical and social considerations that are essential to business leadership. Such a drawback may have left business school graduates not quite ready to make decisions that, taken together, may have helped ease the financial and real estate crisis, critics say. An alternative study program for a bachelor's degree in business or real estate is a liberal arts, such as economics, public administration, urban planning, or geography. A prospective real estate professional can equip his education with a Master of Real Estate Development, a general prerequisite for many institutional and corporate real estate firms.

Business school ranking
US News and World Reports rank 13 top graduate programs offering studies in real estate. However, many schools in the US News and World Reports list (University of Florida and Cornell University, for example) do not actually offer a degree in Real Estate, and alternatively run a "focus" or "minor" in Real Estate under their Finance department. In addition there are many non-business schools that offer other real estate related titles.
